Coenen Data Meeting

Jackie, Linda and I met today to discuss the data for Jackie's students who are being progress monitored.  She prefers to score the passages herself and share the results with the students.  She feels this helps the students to see their progress in a more timely manner.  As our final goal is to have the teachers scoring and charting the progress monitoring data themselves, this is a very welcome idea!

Preparing the Materials

Well, today is the day to get all the materials ready for the Winter Screener.  Although my original plan was to complete the screeners this week, the teachers felt the students have been overtested lately.  In the past two weeks, they have completed Winter MAP testing for reading, a mid-year Everyday Math Assessment required by the district, SRI, Rigby assessment for Guided Reading Levels, and Monitoring of Basic Skills for math progress monitoring.  Some have also done Winter MAP testing for math.  Early next week, we will have all the classes completing the Winter reading maze screener.  This will still be within our January timeline, so we should be OK.  I am excited to see how the students do.  I greatly appreciate my colleagues support in doing this research.
